Hello! This is Joris from FunkyTime
and I will show you how you can track expenses in different currencies than
your default. If you would like to check your default, just go to your profile and
to settings. You can see here at the top what your default currency is. This
means that, by default, when you track expenses, they will be in euro in this
case. So for example this morning I have already tracked a few time entries. One
of them has an expense: breakfast at the airport for 7.50 euros. So then I’ve
taken a flight to New York and of course all my expenses from now on will be in
US dollars. So let’s also change the time zone to New York so that all the
time entries I track will be in that new time zone. And now you can see that
FunkyTime tells me that the first two time entries have been tracked in the Europe / Brussels
timezone but from now on they will be in the New York time zone. So, I arrived at
6:00 pm in the old time zone, so it should be 12 in the new time zone… And let’s say
that I take a taxi, on the same project. So “taxi”. I will add that so that it will
appear in the overview. And now the point is that in this field I have to
track the expense in US dollars. So the way you can do this is just by typing
the amount, then a space, and then the currency code. So that’s how easy it is.
It will automatically calculate how much this amount is in your default currency
and then when you save it, that will be what actually appears in the overview.
The reason for this is that this way you can get the total at the bottom and in
your reports. So if I go now to reports and I get the expensive overview, I will
again see the amount in my default currency so that my total amount is in
my default currency as well. So that’s how you can track
expenses in different currencies.
