Climate change: a cry from the future | FT

What do you want me to say? Or, more importantly, how
do you want me to say it? I could stand here and
narrate my world to you like it’s the opening
credits of a disaster movie. This is the setup. 2050, far enough in the future
for all this to seem plausible. Climate catastrophe reported
as normality, the daily index of maximum time
allowed outside in Doha or Austin or Manchester. In all these places, it is
over 50 degrees centigrade. If you go outside for more
than your allotted hour, then you will die. Some specific new tragedy. Targeted bioweapon
takes out Cape Town as the statelets of a collapsed
South Africa fight for water. First use of live ammunition
to keep the hordes out on the Italian/Swiss border. I could be a newsreader,
if we still have those. A citizen journalist,
screaming into a phone against the backdrop of
burning old growth forest. Ported into your optic nerve
through a neural network, a studio improvised
in a spare bedroom to half a billion subscribers. But not anything we’d recognise
as TV news, or newspapers, obviously. Whatever a newspaper
looks like then, we’re probably
imagining it wrong. Whatever happens,
whatever lies look like, whatever truth becomes, it
probably won’t look like this. This isn’t really the future. This is an idea of the
future that by the time you’re watching it is
in the past anyway. This is what the future looked
like in our heads in 2019. I’m just here saying, how do
you want me to talk to us? Should we talk about
dystopia, maybe? But dystopia is weird, isn’t it? It feels now like we might
have made a mistake about it. Depending on which version
of this future world I’m in right now, of course. I mean, maybe we scared
ourselves a bit too much. All that footage
of rising oceans, and rioting in the
cities, and the streets of London underwater,
and one filthy polar bear that was all
ribs, and hunger, and sadness. All those water
wars, desiccated dead piled in the uninhabitable
streets, and the rise of idiots feeding on fear with
simplistic solutions. A lot of that happened. Or from where you’re
watching this, a lot of that is going to happen. The processes are in motion. Dengue fever’s gearing
up for a world tour. Extreme heat’s
eyeing up more people than just the old
or young or sick. People are dying of
this stuff right now. But if that’s what
we tell ourselves, we internalise the
end, the idea of it. We lie down in the face of
it because it’s just too big, and then that is the end. Because we’ll put our trust, our
need to be saved from all that, in things we can’t see yet. We’ll take the chance of an
off-moment of inspiration over the provable reality. It’s just the way we’re built. The big discoveries of
self-regenerating bodies, and fusion power, and
everything quiet, and humming, and electric. Bringing the global
temperature down with sulphates or electric cars
or some method of clean energy we haven’t even thought of yet. Our ability to
pull salvation out of the apocalypse hat at
the last minute, to carbon capture our way out of this. The idea there’s a
sole solution that will save us through the
power of eureka is seductive. And we’re trying
all these things. We are. But whatever
arrives, if it does, it can’t reach back
through time to now. We’ve never really worked
out how to talk about this. We probably should have. I mean, it’s not as
if we didn’t know. Even if some of us took
comfort in the voices that only told us what
we wanted to hear. And then we spent a long time
trying to blind ourselves with science, and we’re sorry. That didn’t necessarily work. Graphs. Graphs, red lines, colours,
and concentrations, parts per million, and rises
of degrees, and millimetres. And we look around ourselves
and think, don’t we? These numbers are too small
or too large or meaningless. What does 2 degrees
mean on a cold day? And what does it mean
decades from now? Which of them is easier
to feel in our bones and then get on with our lives? If we could have sung
scientific facts like pop songs, we’d have got to the chorus
sooner, but we didn’t. It’s not that we
could have stopped these things from happening. But we’d have been better
prepared to face them in a way that didn’t
kill so many of us. Maybe we screwed
ourselves up with too much speculative fiction. I could be standing
at the edge of the sea telling you the future
looks like this, that most of the
streets you grew up in are behind me in the waves. List the countries
that are gone, and the parts of countries,
because they’re underwater or you just can’t
go outside in them, where the local
biospheres collapsed, show you the normal
life that plays out against that backdrop. A kind of warmer, more
beige version of now with potholes and soldiers
on the streets everywhere, rather than just
the poor places. And only three
types of toothpaste. Thing is, when you make the
argument about lifestyle degrading, you either
don’t want to believe it because you think you’re
immune, or you don’t care, because you’re
already living it. But the one thing nobody
told us was that everything was going to be all right. Nobody serious, anyway. And if that’s what you heard,
it wasn’t what we were saying. We never found the way to
make ourselves do enough, fast enough. I mean, some of us, yes. But doing enough
consistently, talking in a way that made
this possible to grasp in the quiet parts of life in
the times between the times that we all march, no. We needed to make this
as everyday as bath time. As graspable as pre-packed
sandwiches or your loved one’s hand. And we didn’t. Every time we tried to make
the defining statement, we thought, maybe
this is the one. Maybe this is the one
that gets through. We didn’t need data or heroes. We didn’t even need
voices pretending to be from the future. We’re in the same place. It’s not about our children
or our grandchildren anymore. The future has come to meet us. Most of the people watching this
will be there when it happens. We needed to
understand, quietly, every day, that
this is the future– now. Every single second. We’re not waiting
for the future. We’re not trying to fend it off. We’re living in it. It is now. And it is us.

  1. What i think about this problem, so it too much people very inert, not want search solvation. They not want take over obligations and to discuss problem. It is one side. Another side it is depend form world goverment. They dicided how will be live planet. How would develop planet. Very litle depend from us.

  2. Blinded by science? feeling of hopelessness? too big of a problem to tackle? too much hate and distrust: republicans, liberals, democrats (hate Obama? thats ok, its your prerogative) BUT… climate change advocates (these alarmist) call for good things: stop polluting, spend less (less consumerism), save more, live healthier, WHY DOES IT BOTHER SO MANY PEOPLE SO MUCH??? So easy to avoid doing your part, being a cynic, paranoid of the facts. The video, sadly, is so true: "HOW DO YOU WANT ME TO SAY IT?" WITHOUT YOU GETTING PISSED OFF !!!!

  3. What if we drop the dramatics and consider climate may be changing, not by CO2 and Greenhouse gases, but because our Sun, although stable enough, has dropped to its lowest magnetic field state in hundreds of years.
Valentina Zharkova, a mathematician and Astrophysicist used Nasa data to create a predictive algorithm, which has been 97% accurate over the last ten years in documenting this fact.
Lowrred magnetics weaken the irradiance or intensity of light we receive, while our Magnetosphere generated by magnetics alsovweakens letting Galactic and Solar radiation into our atmosphere.
A 40-50% increase in radiation entering our atmosphere has been documented since 2014.
This radiation is heating our land, water and air; as oceans warm CO2 and Greenhouse gas is forced from dissolved suspension, a symptom of change, not the cause.
Glacial ice samples reveal climate is always changing and when temperatures increased in the past, CO2 production always follows, the exact opposite you are told.
Perhaps this is why Climate talk always seems to focus on Emotions and not balanced open discussion.
    Why would anyone do this?
Consider the outline of the Paris accord Trump walked awsy from; ever read it?
5 trillion dollars would be required from participating nations, held and directed by who?
Both China and India the two worst polluters on the planet, would not be required to meet any meaningful standards for 13 years.
As "developing nations" they would not need to explain how or where they spent any of the funds given to them.
The US would immediately give 600,000,000 to each country every year, because they obviously couldn't afford to.
Every US family ( based on four people) would contribute 22,000 estimated every year. ( added to national deficit)
Once again this handshake deal required no official audit by countries receiving, it was all in faith.
Carbon credit taxation and decisionary control of new technologies, i am assuming would have been directed to these fledgling nations to assist development.
In short the US would carry most of the cost and countries like China and India would be gifted with contracts to develop new ways to combat change.
    Thank God Trump reads contracts.

  4. The atmosphere is 0.04% CO2. 97% of that CO2 was formed naturally. 3% of it is from human activity. CO2's ability to act as a greenhouse gas is nearly maxed out. More won't change anything. The only climate model that has accurately predicted the increase of Earth's surface temperature ignores CO2 as a driver for climate change. This model continues to predict accurately while all the models that the UN uses continue to fail, miserably The increase in temperature over the last 100 years is very, very small compared to the numbers that the climate change groupies keep pushing. So are the numbers for sea level rise. These are facts. Look into the science before you jump on the "emotional nonsense climate change" bandwagon. The story as it is now told is driven completely by lies.

  5. Everyone has been fooled and both the American and British media have openly been told not to interview anyone who disputes that it is humans that have caused the climate to change. If the oil and gas had not been used, where would all the plastics have come from (which sadly, humans dump in land fill sites, rivers and the sea!)? Where have many of the oil based chemicals, tar, medicines, food additives etc. etc. come from? (See a partial list of 6,000 products made from oil at https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/partial-list-over-6000-products-made-from-one-barrel-oil-steve-pryor). ; How would we have produced the energy we have used? How would we have transported food and goods around the planet…by horse and cart and rowing boats? How would we have heated and cooled our homes? Well, we could have cut down ALL of the trees I suppose…It is bad enough that we have cut down most of the trees in most countries and in particular around the tropics where the tree cover historically controlled the world climate! Those living in or near or visiting rainforest will be aware how tropical rains are absorbed by the trees very quickly after a storm, since each tree can absorb its own weight in water. Evaporation in the rainforest helps to keep the temperature down, particularly in the tropics, whereas cleared land retains the radiant heat of the sun. Then look at the main real current proximate cause of climate change… THE POLE SHIFT!

The concept of 'global warming'. and 'global temperature increases', of a variety of alleged current and future ranges, is not of any scientific value. Global temperatures vary from year to year and from geographical location to location. Many of the temperature and climate recording stations were installed many years ago in relatively rural locations where over time, housing, industrial and road developments have increased localized temperatures and altered localized climate. The increased extreme weather now becoming common worldwide has also produced record high and low temperatures worldwide, year on year. Last year (2018) a record low temperature of -83 C was recorded in Siberia and a record high temperature of 51.3 C was recorded in Algeria. With huge variations worldwide over short and long periods of time, proposing an average global temperature is completely illogical, unscientific and fictional. Temperature recording stations are not spread at equidistant locations in similar environments over every square mile of the Earth's surface which would be an absolute requirement if the data had any value at all. In addition, the use of historic data from air bubbles in ice containing CO2, has now been under scrutiny following the realisation that gases locked up in ice are absorbed at different rates in the ice and the remaining air and its constituents does not necessarily represent the air trapped at historic moments in time.

Temperatures on the planet swung from -83oC to + 56oC last year. Seasonal and day/night time temperatures can swing 60oC on many land surfaces, so talking about an average temperature increase of 2o C as being catastrophic would make very little difference to many areas of the Earth. Far more serious is the surge in extreme climate change with the escalation of droughts, floods, unseasonal climatic changes, earthquakes and volcanic eruptions. These increasing extreme climate variations are also dramatically affecting the current world food output. See https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ELA_VdMN6eY and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZCtZ6SJlH7U ; and many others. The current escalation of these changes cannot under any circumstances be caused by the tiny increase in CO2.

Whilst cyclical historic climatic patterns are a guide to future climate, so many factors and accurate data are missing from historic data and projected computer models. Our planet and its climate change is affected by its variable orbit around the sun, solar activity cycles, variations in earthquake and volcanic activity, pole shift, solar and cosmic radiation, impact from passing planetary debris, to name but a few of the causes. Seasonal cyclical climatic variations throughout the calendar year depend on location, the Sun's position during the day and night and the elliptical orbit and distance between the Earth and the Sun. The increase in the release of CO2 by man, has a minute affect on weather. The release of methane from livestock whose population numbers are similar to the human population are far more damaging than the CO2 man produces. In addition, we are led to believe the alleged heat trapped by the 1 in 2,500 molecules of CO2 in the atmosphere makes a bee line for the CO2 molecules and does not go anywhere near the 2,499 molecules of other atmospheric gases! Radiant heat from the Earth's surface does bounce around CO2 molecules, but ultimately it escapes. Comparing CO2 to the affect glass in a greenhouse has on retaining heat is ridiculous and unscientific! There is no glass window in the atmosphere or glass dome around the planet! What makes the concept that CO2 is a 'greenhouse gas' even more ridiculous is that CO2 is a main input for photosynthesis and not only are concentration levels of CO2 in greenhouses much lower, many owners of greenhouses have to inject more CO2 to increase plant growth! The reason greenhouses are warmer than the surrounding environment is because the glass prevents the escape of the trapped heat which is also a requirement for rapid plant growth. People in glass hoses should not blame the CO2! The Clouds have an infinitely greater ability to trap heat since cloud as we are all very aware, clouds help prevent frosts and prevents the sun from warming the Earth's surface! As many who fly will testify, the tops of clouds are white and not only prevent heat from the sun reaching the Earth's surface, but reflect heat back away from the Earth's surface.

Of greater affect on the world climate is the destruction of forest, particularly around the tropics where lack of trees to absorb the sun's radiation causes tropical (not global) warming and the absorption of much more moisture from the tropical seas as a result of higher air and sea temperature. Global solar minimum records may have been a guide to future climate from past records, however, the affects of the pole shift are altering global conditions and projections from historic records and cycles. At the last GSM, we were not experiencing the extreme temperatures and extreme weather events now being recorded! Also, we did not experience such a huge increase in earthquake and volcanic activity. (Sometimes as many as 4000 earthquakes over 2.5 on the Richter scale each month instead of 200, 16 years ago and over 70 erupting volcanoes each month as opposed to 3, 16 years ago.) Huge cracks and sink holes have also increased year by year in the last 16 years as a result of the stress on the crust from the current crustal slip.

So one cause for the escalation of extreme weather events is simple…less trees in the tropics each year….less to absorb the suns radiation = tropical warming (NOT GLOBAL WARMING!). Higher temperature around the tropics = more moisture evaporated from the oceans producing much warmer, denser and increased cloud production (hence more flooding in tropics where tree cover is reduced)…..then more and denser ‘tropical rainforest clouds’ carrying more moisture, escape the tropics as intense heat on cleared land creates lift to allow these clouds to escape the tropics on trade winds…hence regional cooling effect away from the tropics as cloud cover increases and increased rain and snow fall away from the tropics, whilst extra cloud cover also traps the extra heat travelling up from the tropics. Less trees in the tropics each year = less biomass to sequester the CO2. As the ocean warms, the warmer seas travel north to the Arctic and south to the Antarctic. As warmer air from the tropics travels north and south, air is warmer in the Arctic and in the Antarctic….simples!’ The warmer air and seas distorts the position of the jet stream pushing it north towards west Canada and north towards the UK but there is a counteractive force pushing the jet stream south at some geographical locations as a result of the increase in cloud cover escaping the Tropics, which cools some areas of the ocean through reduced radiation from the sun.

  6. anothe rawful video,, unwathable,, after 2 minutes had to come out,, Junk in every way possible, Who pays for this rubbisg,, we the taxpayers?

  7. The FT needs to spend money on reporting actual facts, not making climate hysteria promo videos. You know things are desperate for the climate alarmists when they have to resort to sending fanatical children to talk to politicians because the core facts and arguments are inconclusive. I am a fan of being good stewards of our planet and avoiding pollution but there are too many people clinging to a cabal of 'CO2 must be taxed' scientists and their business sidekicks. It's worth counter balancing this FT video by watching this interview https://youtu.be/nnXatjSeWWE

  8. Please explain why we cannot predict next weeks weather accurately but can predict the next 50 years? Simple but reasonable question. And don't say climate change.

  9. I think the reason why many people have a hard time taking climate change seriously is because of how the solutions are often portrayed e.g. Greta Thunberg, planting trees (even though they aren't really a solution), paper straws and expensive energy through windmills and solar panels that have an insane footprint on them through their production. If real change is needed and further wanted but resources limited then it only makes sense to focus on that which has the biggest 'bang for bucks'. Helping poor countries should be the first priority. Many of the Africans countries have insane fertility rates. It is well documented that as wealth increases fertility rates decrease. That would be a start. Capping the number of people on earth. Further, invest in third worlds countries production. Make the production in such countries sustainable. Give a real plan of action instead of scare tactics and paper straws.

  10. The comment section is so dumb. Like please educate yourself and listen to the scientists, their the experts not you. We have to change our attitude and lifestyles if we want to survive as a species.

  11. This isn’t left wing propaganda, it’s facts and it’s certainly not government lies. Ask the million scientists begging our world leaders to change. Climate change must be acted upon.

  12. This video IS a disaster! Climate catastrophe will not happen. I look forward to coming back to this video and laughing at you just like when I laughed at the moronic Ted Danson in 1988.

  13. A large majority of the human population are very stupid, there sheep, they believe in conspiracy theories. Unfortunately for them the intelligent members of society and the scientists are showing them the evidence. Right now there are worldwide wild fires, floods, no water and now food. Soon there will be a large immigrant crisis and wars over water, food, shelter and survival.
This is real, it’s not just a theory, it’s happening right now.

  14. How about shaming the evil adult comments left against kids doing goodness for the planet on the Bloomberg tic tok. Is Bloomberg the evil one against climate change??? Where are the real heroes?

  15. Interesting poetic story. I’ve thought for quite awhile that we have become cancer on the planet.

James Lovelock and his concept the Gaia principle of the living self correcting biosphere might be correct after all?

Maybe climate catastrophe is Gaia ‘s way of a self healing. Once we have been reduced or even eliminated the biosphere will naturally regenerate. That’s easy for me to say as a 68 year old, I like most others were ignorant of man’s out out destructive nature of the biosphere.

  16. "A giant meteorite is crashing into Earth as the world leaders and wealthy upperclass board a rocket to Mars" that's the ultimate news feed… Might be the first time I sit and watch attentively for more than 10 – 20 minutes in the midst of it I wouldn't even mind if it was payperview.

  17. I hope this means the FT can now support tearing down the endless unsustainable growth and short-term-profit-before-planet ideology of capitalism. The end of fossil fuels. The end of the financial system determining the direction of humanity in favour of the richest few who think they can build bunkers or island fortresses to escape the extreme weather and hordes of people who'll be coming for them with the guillotine. It's a simple equation for capitalists and those who want to maintain the status quo: take radical action now and sacrifice your lifestyle a little along with the rest of us, or lose everything including your heads on the block when disaster really bites.

  18. Could FT in any way, maybe an editorial angle or "who do we praise for what", have helped shape the economy to be less ferously eating the planet??? Just wondering. Good video though.

  19. You can slice it
    you can dice it
    you can spin it
    or redesign it
    you can stretch it
    or deny it
    no matter
    the circumstances
    no matter
    what you do
    the truth
    will
    remain

    the same

Have you researched have you even looked
at the for and against man made climate change er
do you even listen to those scientists
who have demanded their name be taken off
the authors list because it has been edited

have you read the original paper on climate change
before it was edited before we the people got to read it er
have you never thought why is there no open debate

on the for and against man made climate change
with scientists who have been studying the climate
for 30 40 50 years people who dont use computer modeling
as a crutch do you not think of these things
and use the common sense logical reasoning
    you claim you have
    We have to adapt
    to the climate
    the climate
    will not adapt
    for us
the climate will continue to do what its been doing

    for 1000s of years

we have the technology to adapt
    its not being fast tracked

    so our children will suffer
    because if the stupiderty
    of today

have you ever asked your self the question
    why er
    So i suggest you stop
    sucking your thumb
    put away your comfort blanket
    and use
    what you claim you have

  20. This is wonderful stuff apart from being a tissue of lies. Scientists using weather balloons have just proved that carbon in the atmosphere does NOT retain heat and that there is no greenhouse effect in the real world. It exists only in faulty computer models.

  21. How many people on this planet really, deeply honestly and unhypocritically care about rising CO2 emissions and the potential of catastrophic climate disruption? Even the advanced countries which are striving to become carbon neutral are economically connected to the world in terms of trade, global financial systems and the global processes that consume fossil energy. Will they all become isolated and self proclaimed selfsufficient regimes? I doubt that will happen in a more and more interconnected world. So we can't escape this no matter how much we try. Oil has become the economic lifeblood of humanity and energy flows go hand in hand with global capital flows. In fact we see this deep correlation between increasing global fossil fuel consumption and the increase of global capital, leading to more investment, opportunity, development and the lifting of billions of people out of poverty. These connections are irrefutable and very very difficult to combat on a global level. So no matter how much we would like to see a completely carbon neutral humanity, the opposite is bound to happen, because our species will continue to use this resource until the last drop of it is taken out of the ground and burned for our use. This is just a statement of fact and observation, and has nothing to do with whether I support it or not

  22. The major vc and fund managers are all now invested in green technologies. Having known what we have known for well over 30 years, now is the time when their friends in mainstream media can loose the dogs of climate change panic in order to maximise the returns for their pots of gold. Good luck everyone, it's going to be quite a ride!

  23. I wonder if it's possible to actually scare the denialists into reason? How about this. The way artificial intelligence and digitization is accelerating exponentially. Extracting a sustainability contribution profile for each person would be a trivial task.

  24. If most of the comments are are indicative of the general population's attitude, maybe humans should just go ahead and go extinct as soon as possible so nature can begin another experiment with creating intelligent life on the planet.

  25. Why are they letting children around the world take days off school with the only clear message being ‘listen to scientists’, yet the scientists remain in the background relatively quiet?
Are they gagged, where are they?
    Which scientist in particular?
I’m ready to listen, which climate scientist is ready to be heard?
LIVE DEBATE ONE ON ONE WITH PIERS CORBYN PLEASE!!!!!!!

  28. "Greta Thunberg, Take Your Climate Tour to China; America’s Reduced Its Carbon Emissions for Decades"
    https://www.breitbart.com/environment/2019/09/18/greta-thunberg-take-your-climate-tour-to-china-americas-reduced-its-carbon-emissions-for-decades/
by Jerome Hudson 18 Sept 2019

Democratic politicians won’t tell you this and the establishment wouldn’t dare report it but as I detail in my new book '50 Things They Don’t Want You to Know', the United States’ carbon emissions output hit its lowest levels since 1992 in 2018, according to a study commissioned by the Environmental Protection Agency. Yet virtue signaling over climate change has reached record levels, thanks in part, to Swedish teen climate alarmist Greta Thunberg.

Since making landfall in the U.S. Greta Thunberg has been compared to Jesus Christ and praised by Hollywood luminaries, lavished with soft-ball interviews, and dubbed “one of our planet’s greatest advocates” by Barack Obama.

Thunberg — who led a global “Fridays for Future” school walkout for climate change — told The Guardian “It’s insane that a 16-year-old has to cross the Atlantic in order to take a stand, but that’s how it is. It feels like we are at a breaking point.” What’s insane is our sycophantic media and political elites bending over backwards to prop up a girl who was a toddler when Al Gore began ringing the climate alarm bells; a child whose solution to our looming doom is to rely on world leaders to “come up with some sort of solution.”

Americans don’t need or want a carefully crafted lecture from a 16-year-old about carbon emissions when that the U.S. has constantly led the world in reductions. As I uncover in my newly released book, U.S. carbon emissions output stands in sharp contrast with major polluters like Russia, Iran, the European Union, and China, whose greenhouse gas emission increases are more than three times the U.S.’s decreases.

Even if we pared our emissions to absolute zero — ground every plane, parked every car, leveled our cities, mandated mud huts to live in, and made subsistence farming law — it’s already too late according to Andrew Yang, who admitted during the second Democratic presidential debate that America only contributes 15 percent of the world’s carbon emissions.

Greta testified before the U.S. Congress on Wednesday 18 Sept 2019. It was a snoozfest. But I dare the teen activist to take her climate alarmism tour to Communist China or Iran or unabashed polluter North Korea. These countries are the driving force behind a world where carbon emissions continue to rise. But the teen Nobel Peace Prize nominee won’t do that, I’m sure. Her handlers won’t let her go near the borders of those countries because they know it won’t end well: Greta will either be shown the door or thrown in a cell.

Greta Thunberg is all panic and no plan. That’s why she came to America, where like-minded Democrats are already peddling trillion dollar plans to tax the U.S. economy into the pre-industrial era.

That’s why she came to America, where like-minded Democrats are already peddling trillion dollar plans to tax the U.S. economy into the pre-industrial era.

by Jim Hoft September 22, 2019
16-year-old Greta Thunberg traveled by boat to the US from Sweden to lecture Americans on Global Warming.

The 16-year-old is an expert we are told.

Greta Thunberg told Americans, “You’re not trying hard enough!”
Evidently Greta wants us to travel by boats to and from Europe.

    Greta is a media-created phenomenon.
What the media does not tell you is who is behind this perky kid.

If you check out her photos young Greta is being escorted around the country by her handler – far left activist Luisa-Marie Neubauer.

Luisa-Marie Neubauer is a 23-year-old German climate protection activist. In Germany, she is one of the main organizers of the School strike for climate movement, inspired by Greta Thunberg. She supports the implementation of Agenda 2030 in Germany and a climate policy that is compatible with the Paris Agreement. Neubauer is a member of Alliance 90/The Greens and the Green Youth.

Luisa-Marie Neubauer belongs to a far left organization called “ONE” foundation.

According to Deutschland-Kurier Luisa Neubauer she is the “Youth Ambassador” of ONE, an international lobbying and campaigning organization.

She tweeted about it in 2018.

And “ONE” is financed by wealthy liberals including Bono, Bill and Melinda Gates and George Soros.

It says so on the ONE org. webpage
    https://www.gatesfoundation.org/How-We-Work/Resources/Grantee-Profiles/Grantee-Profile-ONE

    So there it is.

  31. so you blocked the comments on the lemonade video as i went to say its a false product and impersonation of character …. she is the biggest imposter. She did not do any African activism until the artist she stole the second version put light and acting as an activist for her Garifuna village in the Caribbean. You understand that is illegal. I have to force the police departmetn when i get back to the usa to get the district attorney. thanks for the evidence.

  32. Man made climate change is a scientific reality. But what does it means, how how that impact looks like in the future, is not really known.

People that tries to sell you of a vision future unless you “act” politically and give them all power, change the fabric of society, etc. you should never trust. Specially news media has an incredibly bad on “predictions” of the future.

The biggest emitters are China, India, the US and Russia, but the message is never to change politically there…

  33. Except it don't happen that way you should have let yourself on fire because that's what's going to happen when the sun micro Novas. Bitter start demanding answers from some of your scientist or people in charge

  34. What an utter load of rubbish along with most of the comments. Proof that Marcus Aurelius was correct: “The object of life is not to be on the side of the majority, but to escape finding oneself in the ranks of the insane”

  35. Where was she in the eighties when snowball Earth was a thing ? … Or global warming ?….. Hmmmm 🤔… She must have been busy .

  36. Bravo, you really have out done yourselves with bullshyt this time!, maybe you should direct this at silicon valley or the ceo of corporates that just keep on pushing their factories or keep finding new ways to make their gadgets that in them selfs create pollution. Or stop using plastics to package everything up in. Even better find a way to stop with nuclear power and that will stop waste over our lands and our oceans. How about not using chem trails in our air supply! How about that.See its all very well and good you putting the blame on us and we do our part we recycle. You should stop and think before you scare everybody as we can't do more than we already are doing, you lot should look at each other who leave us with no choice than to use your shyt that you create which in turn we use. They have been telling us bull about global warming. Don't take my word for it , hear it from a professor https://youtu.be/My1r9bzKPOo

  37. So is this lady related to the Swedish girl that the left brainwashed into appearing at the UN to tell us the sky is falling?

  38. Well, all'ye'all kin say what ever you like or blame this or thet, but millions are affected every week now by climate change….i live in Alaska, the fastest changin area of the world…n when the Inuit are frightened i am pretty sure all'ye'all need ta sit up n pay ATTENTION n STOP these A$$HOLES thet are denyng climate change.

  39. "As everyday as bath time."

If the rich developed nations choose to live with the per capita average emissions of a European, global emissions would be cut by 30%.

We can and must do that. immediately.

I'm not telling you to do something that is impossible or even difficult for many.

Personally, I'm now well below that by buying zero carbon electricity, driving electric, not flying and eating vegan.

Do what you can right now.

  40. The first word of the title says it all "Actress"., not climate scientist, Statistician, Ecologist, but "Actress" Perhaps she should stick to acting rather than talking about subjects she knows very little about, or reading from someone else's script she hasn't bothered to research in depth.. Perhaps her next video could be on the physics that might give us quantum drive rocket propulsion in the next 100 years.? Go on Nicola, go for it.

  41. Unlimited growth on a limited planet is just insane. The capitalist experiment successful in monetising frontiers is about to collapse as the frontiers evaporate. We humans are about to start “evaporating” as agriculture closes down. The human toll happening in various ways in various areas will be catastrophic. Without a planned reduction in human population back to about 1 billion, you and I will be finished but this is what is required. The markets of course are about to collapse so your dollars are already lost…it just hasn’t happened yet. Remember unlimited growth on a limited planet is the philosophy of a total dickhead.

Let's no forget the young climate warriors who have been fighting for climate change years before Greta but went unnoticed by the media

And there is more to climate change

  43. -There is a climate urgency!!!
-Fine let's rapidly build more nuclear power plants, convert to electricity and gradually switch to fusion and renewables in the next centuries.
    >Noooo, how dare you, we need to have less kids, but also import more third world migrants because of low gdp growth and population decline, but also have countless taxes on energy, close nuclear plants, start coal plants instead until "renewable picks up" and the wind blows at the right speed, eat insects, become vegan and scrap our cars every 7 years because of new emissions regulations.

  44. I wonder why so many actors, TV presenters and celebrities are fronting and promoting the 'climate-change' rubbish?

…Is there a shortage of credible scientists, or something….?

    .

  45. Half a billion subs !!!
    She’s talking about Pewdiepie
Year he’ll still be uploading in 2050 🕺🏻🕺🏻

  46. Yes, we did work out how to talk about it. Show us you #FirstGigawattDown https://youtu.be/8–VSh0JUT0 NOW. Watch it.

  47. Fear. Its a living.
For all the fools that still are in denial, plants use CO2, water doesn't go anywhere and the Earth has had far more CO2 in the past when there was no ice and lots of plants. If you want to fantasize how horrible your future is, don't drag anyone down with you.
    What a horribly uneducated message.

  48. "Eat the Babies!" 4 Oct 2019
    https://moonbattery.com/eat-the-babies/

Jonathan Swift lives on in an unhinged moonbat who proclaims that due to the menace allegedly posed by harmless CO2 emissions, we must act immediately and eat the babies:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=epwUTVUwB7A

As suggested at Vlad Tepes, we are reaching a parody inversion point, where it is no longer possible to distinguish progressivism from parody.
    https://vladtepesblog.com/2019/10/03/constituent-of-cortez-buys-the-climate-crap-hook-line-and-sinker/

Even Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez seems to recognize that the woman in the video is probably either spoofing or insane, yet the level of hysteria on display is not far removed from today’s Democrat mainstream.

The deranged concept that babies are bad because they make it be too warm out by emitting carbon is accepted among liberals. Influential feminist Gloria Steinem has asserted that letting unwanted babies live “is the single biggest cause of global warming” and that the patriarchy forcing women to bear children is “the fundamental cause of climate change.” Her fellow moonbat Prince Harry encourages Britons not to reproduce for the same reason.

Babies aren’t human anyway, or it wouldn’t be legal to abort them. Why not eat them? All we have to do is legally set the arbitrary age at which they magically become people to a year or two after they have been born.

Titania McGrath is ready to tuck in, “as soon as someone comes up with a vegan soy-baby alternative.”

  49. This is a mental game youre playing with idiots and the mentally ill….. isnt it?

The end goal is to change their minds through primal fears and provoking irrational thoughts.

Like just enough to spark the bias you want.

    Heres some absolute 100% facts.

    – 61% of modern NOAA temp data is completely made up through a flawed interpolation method that is applied to stations that also show too much cooling, so that it may always produce warming over all.

-at least some of the bias adjustments to the historical record are wrong, and other agencies follow NOAAs same footsteps with bias adjustments.

    – observation of almost all urban areas show signs of data contamination.

-almost all graphs in the ipcc reports and in other similsr reports with simolar agendas, are cherry picked to create the strongest trends and ignore prior data that conflicts with many of the assertions that the graphs are used to support.

    – sea level has not had an increased in its rise rate. The rate is basically constant.

    – the ipcc is run by politicians, and what they publish in their reports are not accurate representations in whole of any papers. They pick papers apart and use them to make assertions which sometimes actually contradict the findings of the scientists.

    – extreme weather is becoming less severe.

    – drought is becoming less common

    – forrest fires have decreased in burn acreage and in numbers, while the number of fires has increased in comparison to burn acreage. Which is to be expected as people start fires where fires would otherwise not exist, and sometimes we can put them out but the majority of this decrease was before any major or effective efforts to fight forrest fires.

    – millions in climate research money has been granted for people to study climate change in areas that the climate has not and is not changing in.

Thats about all i wanna write right now.

  50. Climate Change is a means of totalitarian control on the majority and further taxes by the left. It is a scam on the people of the world.

    Research the following.

Tony Heller, very clever man "Evaluating the integrity of the official climate change records" on YouTube.

Prof Patrick Moore ecologist and founder of Green Peace, who is still waiting for a climate change supporter to debate him.

Friends of Science – 500 scientists sent letter to UN stating that there was no climate emergency. Not mentioned in MSM.

Pro Richard Tol ecologist and formerly worked for IPCC

    Prof William Happer

    Pro Murray Salby.

    Dr Susan Crockford

DR Madhav Khandekar – former reviewer expert for IPCC.

    DR Joseph Postma – Astrophysicist

I could go on but all these experts and many more are on the net and YouTube but can't get air time on MSM. Believe nothing the MSM tells you until you research yourself.

  51. Understand that the founder of Extinction Rebellion Roger Hallam studied a PhD on Civil Disobedience. Researching how to achieve social change through radical movements at Kings College London. The question I have is why would anyone study that unless you already had a plan, an agenda. So there you have it he's probably a upper class Marxist manipulator of people as not everyone gets to attend Kings College. And sheep do follow………..

  52. You know, the real travesty of global climate change is the polar bears.
Of the 8,000 that was around in the 1960s, only 25,000 remain!
